By end of 1999, Superior Metal Printing
Limited saw the strong growth potential of its manufacturing business in
flexible packaging materials. Going forward in May 2000, Superior
Metal Printing Limited initiated a name change to Superior Multi-Packaging
Limited to aptly represent its core businesses in both metal and flexible
packaging products. Along with the name change, the Company’s logo
also underwent a metamorphosis to symbolize new opportunities for growth in
the new millennium.
Listed on the Main Board of Singapore
Exchange since August 1993, Superior Multi-Packaging Limited has two core
businesses. One pillar of the business is specialized in the
manufacture of metal cans and pails for the paint, chemical, petrochemical,
marine oil, edible oil and food industries. The other pillar is engaged
in the manufacture of flexible packaging materials for the food,
pharmaceuticals, medical products, oleo chemicals and consumer electronic
peripherals industries.

In 1996, the Company was awarded the Overseas
Enterprise Incentive Award by the Economic Development Board in recognition
of its successful regionalisation programme with its network of production
facilities in China, Malaysia, Vietnam and Philippines.
1999 sprung a two-pronged growth initiative
that will reinforce Superior’s position in tapping the growing
opportunities around the world. The first aim is to expand its
markets in Europe, Australia and USA. The other is to continue its
investments in research & development to introduce new products, as
well as investments to update its production facilities and manufacturing
processes.
