1984 – Acquired Nissei Engineering Co Pte Ltd to provide
engineering products and services.
1987– Set up flexible packaging business in Singapore.
1989 –
Established Beijing Huade Lining Materials Industry Co Ltd (Joint venture
with PRC state-owned Beijing Huaxin Development Co Ltd) to manufacture
sealant products.
1990 – Listed on the Stock Exchange of Singapore Dealing and Automated
Quotation System (SESDAQ) as a public company.
1991 – Acquired Superior Metal Printing (M) Sdn
Bhd to manufacture metal pails and cans. Received first Certificate of
Award under the Singapore Institute of Standards and Industrial Research
(SISIR) UN Registration Scheme.
1992 – Set up joint venture with Inoue Manufacturing Inc, and
renamed Nissei to Inoue-Nissei Engineering Pte Ltd.

Upgraded from SESDAQ to Singapore Stock Exchange Main Board.
Embarked on regionalization programme in the People’s
Republic of China (PRC) by incorporating an investment holding company,
Superior Metal Printing (HK) Ltd.
1994 – Acquired first subsidiary in the PRC, Beijing Huade Metal
Packaging Container Co Ltd to manufacture metal pails and cans.
1995 – Acquired Hoover Stainless Pte Ltd to manufacture
architectural and decorative metal works.

Set up Superior Metal Printing (Huiyang) Co Ltd and Kunshan
Huade Metal Packaging Container Co Ltd in the PRC to manufacture metal
pails and cans in Huiyang and Kunshan in the PRC.

1996 – Entered into a management contract with Nippon Paint (S)
Co Ltd for the manufacture of metal pails and cans in Ho Chi Minh City.
Incorporated Superior Metal Printing Philippines Inc, to
manufacture metal cans in Metro Manila.
Awarded the Overseas
Enterprise Incentive Award by the Economic Development Board of Singapore
for an outstanding regionalization programme.
1997 – Awarded ISO 9002 Certification for the manufacture and
printing of flexible packaging material.
Completed the sale of 70% shareholding in Inoue-Nissei
Engineering Pte Ltd in December.
1999 – The Economic Development Board of Singapore (EDB) awarded
a grant under the Innovation Development Scheme to the Group for its R
& D project on the development of packaging for food and non-food
industries.
2000 – The change of name, Superior
Metal Printing Limited to Superior Multi-Packaging Limited took effect
from 30 May 2000. The name change was an opportune one: in addition
to being a more accurate reflection of the Group’s varied businesses, is
also an indication of its outlook and business strategies in the years to
come.
2001 – A new pail and can plant in
Pudong, Shanghai, started in November 2001.
2002 – Our subsidiary in Langfang became operative in July
2002.
2003 – Beijing Huade Metal Packaging Container Co Ltd (now known
as Langfang Huade Metal Packaging Container Co Ltd) relocated to Langfang
end of March 2003. A new subsidiary Neo Tech Packaging was incorporated
in Shanghai.
2004 – Our subsidiary in Vietnam relocated to a new factory. Neo
Tech Packaging completed installation of the new plant to manufacture
laminated metal plate.
2005 – We were accredited with the Hazard Analysis Critical
Control Point (HACCP) System – Food Safety System for Flexible Packaging.
